Managing Associate Nishant Sogani offers clients nearly 10 years of experience in advising on restructuring and insolvency. A key figure in the team, Nishant acts on many of the firm’s most complex cases. He is certainly deserving of the ‘Rising Star’ ranking.

 

He is a part of the firm's Restructuring & Insolvency team and advises resolution applicants, creditors, resolution professionals and liquidators during the insolvency and liquidation process. He also advises clients on M&As, financing, and general corporate issues relating to company law, debt financing, debt restructuring and commercial contracts. 

 

He has advised various corporates, NBFCs, ARCs, resolution professionals and liquidators in insolvency and restructuring matters in the real estate, power, infrastructure, and steel sector.

 

His activity of late includes:

 

• Providing legal support services to the resolution professional of Dignity, which ultimately culminated successfully with the approval and implementation of a resolution plan for the distressed company.

 

• Advising Mr. Rohit Mehra (resolution professional) in the resolution process of Reliance Broadcast Network Limited, which involved restructuring of claims valued at approximately US$ 203 million. Nishant provided full spectrum of legal support services in relation to the resolution process which witnessed stiff competition between bidders and complex structuring of resolution plans in light of restrictions on holding licenses under the applicable guidelines.
