Chandhiok & Mahajan, Advocates and Solicitors, recently represented Indus Towers Limited before the Supreme Court of India in a challenge to Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC)’s decision to award a contract for providing 5G mobile services along the Delhi Airport Metro Express Line on a nomination basis.
The firm had earlier secured favorable orders for Indus Towers before a Single Judge of the Delhi High Court, which were affirmed by the Division Bench. These findings were subsequently carried in challenge to the Supreme Court.
Dismissing the petition, the Supreme Court upheld the High Court’s reasoning, noting that the contract award was driven by the peculiar facts of the case and the overarching objective of ensuring best-in-class connectivity for metro commuters. The Court found no grounds to interfere with the Division Bench judgment.
